I actually bought the camera from amazon. The audio review is: there are some clickings, not as bad as my olympus SW 840 though.

Is that with the autofocus on or off?

With autofocus off.

With on, there are even more clickings.

I'm a bit disappointed in the battery life. the battery that comes with it is 680 mAh. I bought cheap chinese knockoffs on ebay that are 900 mah that hopefully will last longer.

Thanks for the review! I've been thinking about one of these for a while, but the last time I looked, the video wouldn't do over 15fps, which won't cut it for me. The W60 could be overkill for me, but I'm definitely impressed with your photos! I expect much of the quality of the pics is due to the user, but it's nice to see the capability. I thought I picked out some graininess on one of the pics, but upon further inspection it merely showed that my monitor could use a cleaning.

There's definitely more graininess than I like, especially at low light or indoor photos that need flash.

But I guess that's what my dslr is for ;)

It feels somewhat pompous to say dslr instead of slr

Come on, Cat, an even bigger acronym is better, right? ;-) Can't you just say SLR? It's still accurate, just not as specific. It's not like it gets you out of someone like me asking what kind of camera you use (no, I'm not asking yet, but it will likely happen).

So... I just got home from Outback after eating too much steak. .oO(How many vegetarians am I offending here?) Then I get to the cow picture. Huh... it doesn't look that yummy from the outside. I wonder how I would taste. Hummm... it might be late and time to quit thinking with my fingertips.

Uh... nice pictures. :-) Yup, a P&S is not likely to out-do your SLR anytime soon.

Whoa! Way too big for my norm, and I would like it waterproof too. No doubt your HF100 is one awesome setup, but it's over my desired size and cost realm, and photos are my main focus. I've been thinking of a POV.1 system, should I figure out where I'll get the time to manage the footage, as I'm way behind on my photo processing as it is. Thanks for the suggestion though! :-)

Yeah, I was kidding. I have started making a lot of videos, and want to make more videos for the things I sell, so I figured it was about time to buy a real camcorder instead of using my Sony P&S for everything.

If you bought the blue one off amazon & did it before Sept 1st, request a price drop refund:

Please note that the price of Pentax Optio W60 Waterproof 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Optical Zoom (Ocean Blue) has decreased from $285.03 to $283.07 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages.

$277.40 with my Cashback.

I think I've got the worlds slowest shipment though. It won't be here until next Monday!! Geez. I'm eager to start using it...going to take it kayaking the following weekend.

In a week and two days, I most certainly am!! Can't wait. Going to learn how to fly fish, too!!

What is it with me and exclamation marks all of a sudden? Am I channeling AK's dearly departed forum-spirit or something?

Between your exclamation points, Sldhed8 being Alaskan, and Ski Nurse's smiley's, we don't need AK anymore.

Sweet. Unfortunately nighttime isn't the best time to test it.

Turn on a lot of lights ;)
